British Airways has unveiled a comprehensive overhaul of its loyalty program. Members can expect exciting new benefits and earning opportunities. The program rebranded as The British Airways Club, will roll out significant changes from 1 April 2025.

Tier Points will now be earned based on spending instead of travel distance. This shift in how the airline rewards loyalty will see members accumulate one Tier Point per £1 spent on eligible purchases.

The thresholds for each Tier have also changed. Bronze now requires 3,500 points, while Silver needs 7,500 points. Gold members must earn 20,000 points, and Gold Guest List requires 65,000 points.

Existing bookings made before April 2025 will convert to the new system. Members will earn the same or more Tier Points, ensuring no one is disadvantaged during the transition.

New Earning Opportunities with Sustainable Choices

For the first time, members can earn Tier Points through contributions to Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF). Each contribution also earns Avios points. This initiative allows members to gain up to 1,000 Tier Points per year.

The unlimited Tier Points system for British Airways Holidays is a game changer. Tier Points will now be based on the total package cost. There’s no limit, making it easier to achieve elite status.

Credit cardholders also benefit. Members with a British Airways American Express Premium Plus Card can earn up to 2,500 Tier Points annually. Details will follow later in 2025.

To celebrate milestones, BA introduces new rewards for incremental achievements. Members can unlock Avios bonuses to reach specific Tier Point levels. The first rewards include 2,500, 4,000, and 5,000 bonus Avios within the Bronze and Silver tiers.

Bonus Tier Points are available for early bookings. Book by 14 February 2025 for travel from April 2025 to qualify. Points vary based on the cabin class booked.

Customers will also enjoy discounts through The Wine Flyer. Discounts start at 5% for Bronze members and rise to 20% for Gold Guest List members, adding extra value to memberships across all levels.

These enhancements simplify the process of earning and redeeming points. For example, members can use Avios to pay for flights starting at £1. Members also transition to unified Tier Point collection periods, facilitating group planning.

Members can now achieve elite status with fewer trips. This is possible because they can earn unlimited Tier Points on holiday packages. Frequent travelers will significantly benefit from these updates.
